The Northampton, UK, company has already reported that it has made significant savings in its electricity bills after estimating that 25 per cent of the company’s 150 computers were being left on unnecessarily.

Lee Eyre, IS director at DSR, said: “Naturally some computers will be needed for round the clock operations — but those  left on for no reason are now being switched off automatically.

“If other environmentally conscious companies follow our lead, it could mean a substantial reduction in carbon footprints, CO2 emissions and costs.”

Separately, the company has recently doubled the size of its team that deals with its MFI account.

Mike Naylor, managing director at DSR, said: “The MFI team based in Northampton has doubled to accommodate MFI’s increased number of marketing campaigns and the reduced turnaround times, which have dropped from one week to 48 hours.

“MFI is one of the many household names which uses our services and it is essential that we continually assess and upgrade our services in line with customers needs,” he said.
