The industry’s bright sparks now have more time to consider their proposals for GAMAA’s $15,000 biannual overseas internship grant; the association is extending the deadline for applications to March 31. The grant will allow the successful applicant to undertake an internship or research with companies of their choosing anywhere in the world. Internships can be undertaken in marketing, new media, print, graphic design and other related disciplines.

The outcome of the successful grant will be a research paper about the recipient’s experience and how their learnings can be applied to the Australian market. In December Samuel Moss from SBM in New South Wales was awarded the 2014 grant, which he will use to to travel to IPEX and to the US to meet with companies such as Adobe. Karen Goldsmith, executive director of GAMAA, says the organisation is committed to promoting leadership through further education. She says, “The GAMAA grant enables the successful applicant to discover world’s best practices and tap into trends that are happening in our industry outside of Australia. “It is the gathering of knowledge from multiple sources that will fuel the sustainability of our industry and GAMAA is pleased to provide this opportunity.” For more information and to apply entrants are encouraged to contact Goldsmith to discuss their proposal, phone (02) 9869 0010, and visit the GAMAA website – www.gamaa.net.au.
