Epson unveils SureColor SC-S30600 wide-format printer

The manufacturer is pitching the four-colour printer at commercial printers, sign businesses and copy shops wanting to expand their wide-format offering.

The 1626mm model can print at speeds from 7.3sqm in high-quality mode and up to 29.4sqm in production operation.

Epson said its SC-S30600, which offers resolutions up to 1,440dpi, enables companies to print a range of applications, including posters, signs, banners, back-lit panels, vehicle wraps, interior decorations and exhibition displays.

The machine supports a range of substrates, including PVC, vinyl, photo paper and banner materials.

Craig Heckenberg, business unit manager at Epson Australia, said: “Our customers can expect the highest image quality possible at prices never before seen in POS and signage. Speed, quality, cost and functionality making this our most advanced large format printer.

Gordon Kerr, business marketing manager at Epson Australia, said: “Setting up the SC-S30600 is fast and easy. Loading heavy media rolls – usually a two-person job – can be handled by one operator with ease.

“Media tensioning, traditionally only accessible from the front of the printer, is controllable from both front and rear, so operators don’t waste time going back and forth. This reduces set-up time and maximises productivity,” he added.

Available from next month and priced from $17,995 (ex GST), the SC-S30600 can also use Epson’s new UltraChrome GS2 inks. These odourless, nickel-free inks feature a new yellow formulation that the manufacturer said would say lightfast for longer than its UltraChrome GS inks.
