Ferrostaal sells PacFilm to Jet Technologies

Ferrostaal has offloaded its PacFilm laminating film business to Jet Technologies.

The deal was made official on 11 October. The terms were not disclosed.

Ferrostaal acquired PacFilm in 2009, five years after it was founded by Crissy Maddocks.

Maddocks has now been reunited with PacFilm; she joined Jet in April and has been given responsibility for the business.

Jet director Jack Malki said: "We are delighted to have been given this opportunity to add PacFilm’s range of high-quality, competitively priced laminating films to our existing range.

"Restructuring at Ferrostaal, to focus on core equipment, made this possible and I would like to extend my thanks to Ferrostaal’s management for the professional way in which the change-over has been handled, causing minimal or zero inconvenience to customers."

Maddocks said it felt great to be involved again with PacFilm and its products.

"They fit perfectly with Jet Technologies' range which includes Durophan scuff resistant laminate, Soft Touch matte film, Lami-Tack, Samurai, Metalised PET and Digi-BOPP, which addresses digital print laminating," she said.

"With the addition of PacFilm, I believe that Jet Technologies now has Australia and New Zealand’s widest range of laminating films, for any application in sheetfed offset, packaging or digital, all supported by a great technical team."

Meanwhile, a Ferrostaal spokesperson told ProPrint that the distributor was now focused on its core print and packaging machinery products.

"This key product focus is reflected with the recent success of a number of Komori press installations in Australia with many more planned in the next few months," said the spokesperson.

"The ongoing packaging business is thriving with Bobst as the established converting packaging solution along with the rapidly growing market for FMCG packaging product solutions in Australia."
