Delegates from the world’s fastest growing print sector heard a range of speakers deliver presentations on new opportunities for wide format, market forces, integrated media and innovation, as well as a series of talks sustainability, all with a sense of optimism for the continuing growth of the sector that has been on a non stop upward trend for the past 15 years, save a quarter in the midst of the GFC.
The continuing growth of wide format is attracting the attention of significant numbers of commercial offset printers, looking to add revenue streamds, and a a fair amount of them may take the trip to Singapore in October.
The Fespa Asia show is due to take place in Singapore October 26-28 at the Suntec Centre. It will be the second Fespa show in Asia following the Bangkok event in 2008., which was hampered by the political turmoil that closed the airport for much of the show – there is no prospect of that happening in Singapore.
The show has so far signed up 160 exhibitors, who have taken 5,000sqm of space at Suntec. Fespa is aiming for 7,500 visitors, which is around 50 per cent more than the 2008 event.
The Australian wide format sector was represented by Grant Cunningham from Allprint, Clem Johnson from Reid Industrial Graphic Products, Tom Arimudin Tjanaria from Next Printing, and Bill Porteous from JW Agencies.
