The three new associate member organisations from the Asia Pacific region are: the Chinese Screenprinting & Graphic Imaging Association (CSGIA), the Thai Screenprinting & Graphic Association (TSGA) and the Screenprinting & Graphic Imaging Association of Australia (SGIAA).
FESPA general secretary Nigel Steffens says it is part of expanding FESPA’s reach beyond Europe and is indicative of the globalisation which is defining the future of the screen and digital printing industries.
“FESPA is working closely with the national screen and digital printing associations to devise a comprehensive range of support initiatives, embracing everything from education, training and knowledge sharing, to promotion of industry standards, and is committed to making the widest possible array of tools accessible to the associations to share with their own member companies,” says Steffens.
SGIAA federal president Clem Johnson says becoming part of FESPA was an important move for the association.
“In today’s ultra-competitive commercial environment, an international umbrella organisation such as FESPA provides tangible value by bringing together the collective knowledge and experience of diverse national associations and their members and making it readily accessible to the wider community,” says Johnson. “We very much look forward to working with FESPA and the other national and regional associations to increase our mutual understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing screen and digital printers around the world.”
The applications from the newcomers were unanimously ratified at FESPA’s recent annual General Assembly, in Slovenia. Over 60 delegates attended the Assembly, representing over 20 worldwide associations.
