With less than two months to the annual wide format exhibition Fespa, where 700 exhibitors are set to present their latest products, swissQprint has announced it will launch two new flatbed printers. The five day event – encompassing screen, digital and textile print – will be held in Cologne, Germany from May 18 to 22, and will also feature an education hub, and a wrap and sign specialist area. Swiss manufacturer swissQprint will launch the Oryx 2 and Impala 2 at Hall 6 at the event, but the company says printers do not have to wait until the event to order as they are both available now.
The company says visitors to Fespa will have the opportunity to see a live demonstration by its experts, who will also speak about the new workflow for 3D printing effects. SwissQprint says the machines will enable printers to get more scope in their wide format choices as the machines can produce 2.5 × 2 metre large flatbed on both printers – representing a 25 per cent bigger area than the first generation models. “In addition, the new systems deliver higher output than their predecessors, which visitors of Fespa will also be able to witness in action [during the live demonstrations],” it says. The company says its machines are enhanced by its droptix, which has an integrated workflow, making printing a ‘breeze to produce the 3D effects’. “Thus, swissQprint also helps practitioners to work as efficiently as possible throughout the entire process, not just at the actual printing stage.” The Fespa Awards will be held on May 19, with a gala dinner at the Cologne Botanical Gardens. For the first time the event will show off print’s capabilities in interior decoration, alongside its digital, textile and screen printing show.
