Rudi Kolbach, product manager, Postpress, Heidelberg Australia and New Zealand says, “Introduced at drupa ’04 the response to the Stahlfolder TH/KH from Australian business has been extremely positive, with nine units set to be installed over the next few months.”
According to Heidelberg the Stahlfolder TH/KH offers a new dimension in folding, with changeover times reduced by intelligent application of automating only those components that offer significant time and cost savings. The folder also features a number of innovative new features exclusive Stahlfolder such as the patented Airstream feeder table for contact and mark free feeding.
Because this new series of folders are built on the modular principle it is possible to retro-fit components that previously had to be manufactured in the factory, such pre-mounted slitter shafts and second pair of slitter shafts after every buckle folding station. This provides flexibility for configuring these machines to handle additional processes when needed.
Heidelberg claims this philosophy together with a number of options such as sheet ejection, slitter shaft lift kit ensures that Stahlfolder’s technology provides the highest level of output available on any folding machine available today.
The Stahlfolder TH/KH is available with a choice of feeders – flat-pile, round-continuous, and pallet. Various work widths are also available including 56cm, 66cm, 82cm (buckle plate folding machines TH) and 56cm, 66cm, 78cm (combination folding machines KH).
Kolbach says, “The Stahlfolder TH/KH is the first truly automatic folder for these sizes available in Australia. With automation comes the quality and speed that users expect of print shops and binderies, and it ensures businesses can realise cost and time savings while making production more reliable.”
The Stahlfolder TH/KH recently won the ‘best of the best’ award for top quality design at the Red Dot Awards in Essen, Germany.
