The 2800 Inkjet Color Continuous Feed Printing System can run at 200 metres per minute in full-colour duplex, making it the vendor’s fastest piece of colour digital kit.
Fuji Xerox Australia national manager for graphic communications Simon Lane has seen the machine in action in Japan and described it as “pretty damn impressive”.
“It is a continuation of our long heritage in high-speed colour solutions,” he said.
“We expect this new platform to meet the demands of both the mailing and commercial print markets, and it heralds an exciting new era in this market,” said Lane.
He said the machine was suitable for customers and corporations that need to issue variable-data documents such as account statements and invoices.
FXA will target high-end mailing houses, commercial printers and catalogues printers.
Lane said the vendor had moved into the inkjet market due to recent technological breakthroughs in the quality of print head technology.
The machine is ready for order in Australia now will be released in the first quarter of 2012.
