Fujifilm brings inkjet web with 540W

Sturt Eastwood, general manager graphic systsms of Fujifilm says, “The JetPress 540W will have a wide appeal, it will enable profitable printing in many different applications, such as newspapers, books, direct mail, transpromo.”

The JetPress 540W has a maximum 540mm web width, and prints at up to   127 metres per minute, using the Myakoshi engines, there are two positioned in a diagonal configuration, meaing the JetPress has justa single tower. Eastwood says, “This gives the Jetpress 540W a small footprint.”

Visitors to the Fujifilm stand also saw the sheetfed JetPress 720, a B2 inkjet printer, which prints at 1200x1200dpi resolution, however the machine on the stand isn’t available to buy, Eastwood says Fujifilm will be launching a new version in October, the 720F, which will print on sheets up to 600gsm. He says, “the 720F will give printers in the 1-2000 sheet run length range a very healthy ROI.”

Fuijfilm was also highlighting its wide format credentials, with a broad range of products. Eastwood says, “Fujifilm has a solution for whichever point printers are at in wide format, from the entry level 20sqm printers to the high end rebadged Matans and Incas

Fujifilm has just reduced the price on its Acuity LED1600 from $80,000 down to $60,000, and Eastwood says ‘they are now flying out of the door.’
