The company’s winning entry in the ‘Book printing – offset’ category, Beyond the Edge, picked up the overall Heidelberg award, adding to an impressive haul for the company.
Scott Print also had a big night with six gold awards, three of which were shared awards with Geon Bassendean. Pilpel Print, PMP, and Labelworld WA each notched a hat-trick of gold awards.
Jessica Ward of Geraldton-based Sun City Print and Design picked up the LIA Heidelberg Graduate of the Year award for Westren Australia, while Supa Stik Labels founder William Holywell was presented with the Kodak 2010 Printing Industry Recognition Award.
Organisers said attendance numbers were down at this year’s event, which was held at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre Bellevue Ballroom, though claimed that this didn’t detract from the evening.
PICA chairman Ian Smith said: “If quality is a given in our industry then PICA is the forum where you can measure it.”
