Get Connected internationally

Delegates representing Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Sri Lanka will detail the performance of the industry in their respective countries.

Joe Kowalewski from Printing Industries, coordinator of the event, says it is important for Australian companies to know what was going on in Asia, as well as locally.

He says the speakers will discuss a range of issue, including technology and internationalism, giving those who attend the opportunity to explore options for collaboration and co-operation.

?Get Connected aims to provide the knowledge bridge to begin this process on,? says Kowalewski. ?Our industry is as dynamic as it is old and that always presents challenges which can be overcome with innovation and knowledge working together. Get Connected is about doing just that ? being connected, learning, sharing and being able to build better businesses.?

The conference, which is a consolidation of Printing Industries NSW Conference and Business Awards, the LIA’s Biennial Conference and the Forum of Asian Graphic Arts Technology, will be held at the Sydney Shangri-La hotel November 16-19. It will also feature a plenary programme, an international forum, streamed business sessions and a streamed technical program developed by the LIA.

Kowalewski says the programme aims to meet the needs of al those in the industry, from company owners and managers to production staff.

?Management increasingly need to learn more about personnel issues, environmental impacts, industry trends, new business opportunities and such. Production staff need to confront everyday issues dealing with software, colour management, proofing ? a whole range of concerns which, incorrectly handled, can negatively impact on the bottom line,? he explains.

?That?s why it?s important to have a broad based accessible and affordable conference designed to help people to meet these challenges. Get Connected is about doing just that,” he says.
