GMG releases latest ColorProof software at Ipex

GMG says the latest ColorProof incorporates platform technology which enables future implementation of new printers, optimised remote proofing and nesting functions, new calibrations and profiles, and offers full integration of newly supported proofing devices.

With remote proofing, GMG claims its technology guarantees identical colour results at host and remote location. Remote proofing can be optionally documented via e-mail notifications with some basic e-mail settings. The company says that users can create high quality mock-ups and packaging proofs on original substrates.

GMG adds that ColorProof features nesting algorithms that allows users’ workflows to achieve fully automated image processing with minimum ink and media consumption. Additionally, GMG ColorProof 5.1.1 contains all the necessary calibrations and profiles for the recently launched new proof media NewsProof 76 for newspapers.

The company has updated its colour management software GMG ColorServer and GMG InkOptimizer, which support the new Windows 7 operating systems with 64-bit computing. GMG says it has also updated the number of included reference profiles in ColorServer. Based on the latest Adobe PDF library, GMG claims these products ensure enhanced production reliability and high-end colour quality at any time by any user. It has also updated its profiling and printer calibration tool GMG SmartProfiler, which GMG says can provide customers the possibility to calibrate and profile different output devices, such as digital presses or large format systems, without profound knowledge of colour management.

Looking to the future, GMG says that the updated ColorServer is the base for a modular scalable software platform and that additional ColorServer versions, tailored for market segments, such as digital/large format/prepress, will be available in the future. The company will further pre-configure these ColorServer versions for different applications and printer configurations to allow out of the box production.
