Go Transit has announced its latest expansion in Victoria – the acquisition of advertising rights for 121 additional buses operating out of two key metropolitan depots, Preston and Broadmeadows.
The expansion is set to significantly increases Go Transit’s presence across Melbourne’s northern and north-western corridors.
The buses will begin featuring advertising from 1 July 2025, giving brands instant access to high-frequency, high-visibility routes in booming areas such as Brunswick, Broadmeadows, and Preston reaching 2.6 million people across Greater Melbourne, according to Go Transit.
The announcement follows Go Transit’s recent acquisition of advertising rights to SkyBus.
SkyBus, a subsidiary of Australasia’s largest bus operator Kinetic, operates the premium airport express service that connects Melbourne Airport to the city centre.
“We’re seeing strong demand from clients who want to make an impact in booming metro corridors, and this expansion gives them the coverage to do just that,” said Kirrily Hirst, GoTransit’s director of sales.
The Preston and Broadmeadows fleets are part of CDC & Kinetic’s Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) Franchise, a cornerstone in Victoria’s clean transport plan. These buses are set to transition to electric vehicles over the coming decade.
Caleb Harriott, director of operations and partnerships said, “We’re committed to growing our network in a way that’s both scalable and future ready. This expansion increases our reach today, while aligning us with the next generation of sustainable public transport”.
