Graffica enhances product range

Neil Southerington from Graffica says the appointment expands the company’s finishing and embellishment supplies, as previously SBL had been the company’s sole finishing and embellishment supplier.

“We are still actively promoting other products from the SBL stable: Coaters, Laminators, Auto Clam Shells etc, however the rapid advances in technology, especially in hologram and cross foiling led us to MK,” explains Southerington. “MK is market leader and number one in die cutter/foiler sales in China, the world’s largest hologram and foil market and world leaders in brand protection via the use of holograms and foils.”

MK has a 20,000sqm state of the art manufacturing facility in Tianjin with over 300 loyal employees working under ISO9000 conditions. All MK machines for local use and export are CE approved and certified.

MK’s R&D department is constantly striving to develop new machines to meet market demands and satisfy their most demanding customers in the world of advanced foiling techniques.

MK’s foundry parts are manufactured using the very latest mechanite cast iron technology, utilising resin coated sand. These foundry parts are all machined in house using the very latest CNC machine tool equipment.

Current manufacturing schedule has three models of die cutter: 1020, 1050 and the new 1060, as well as five makes of die cutter/foiler and hologram machines 920, 1020, 1050 and the new 1060ST and new two stations models.

This year MK released three new models, including the MK1060E die cutter, a development of the already popular 1050 size machine featuring the usual hallmarks of MK machines – weather treated castings, guaranteed register and two year parts and labour warranty. This machine is competitively priced.

The second release from MK, the two station die cutter and Cross foiler, actually came in at the end of 2005. It is the ultimate weapon in high quality anti forgery machinery and allows the greetings card and carton printer to foil and die cut in one pass eliminating register and sheet movement problems, and of course massively speeding up production, with still only one operator.

The third release is the 1060ST, a single station high quality, high speed die cutter/foiler, which will be launched at Ipex.
Also new for Graffica in 2006 is the company’s own range of hand fed die cutters.

“With the ever increasing demand for large format digital and screen print point of sale material comes that need for large format die cutters,” says Southerington. “To produce a life size human cut out you need a large cutter. Our Graffica XO180 (1800×1400) and XO200 (2000×1400) fit the bill. Faster and offering better cut quality than a roller cutter and now with an economical price tag, these machines have already made a mark with 2 x XO180 machines being sold to trade finishers.”
