This time, it is the Guangzhou Daily Group which decided in favour of innovative technology “Made by KBA”.
Based in the flourishing south Chinese industrial metropolis, Guangzhou Daily Group has a staff of approximately 5800 with total output of 137,000 tonnes of printed matter each year.
The flagship Guangzhou Daily newspaper has a circulation of approximately 1.65 million per day. It has the highest volume of advertising of any newspaper in China and has recorded double-digit increases every year over the last decade.
The recent sale to the Guangzhou Daily Group is only the latest in a long run of successful projects for KBA, which has also been very successful in selling its large format sheetfed presses in China. The sale of numerous newspaper and semi-commercial Comet and Colora presses also illustrates the high degree of KBA’s success in the China market presence.
The new investment in KBA commercial web offset press technology by another Chinese printing house is evidence of KBA’s solid performance in this market segment. With its individual drive strategy, minigap technology and an automatically adjustable gripper folder, the Compacta 215 is one of the most modern presses on the market.
The C215 is engineered for a speed of 55,000 revolutions per hour, and has a cylinder circumference of 620 mm and a maximum web width of 1.000 mm. Thanks to its high level of automation and short makereadies, it has proven to be a very efficient press for short and medium production runs alike.
