Halifax Vogel to build new Perth warehouse

The new facility will replace the company’s existing site at Bayswater as the Western Australian base for HVG’s group of importing and distribution companies, including SmartStone, Alucobond Architectural and Octanorm Australia.

HVG staff are expected to make the move to the Bibra Lake site in a year, with the new complex representing a $2.5 million investment for the company. The announcement follows HVG’s purchase of 22,500 square metres of land at Derrimut in Melbourne last month, which will also be used for an office and warehouse complex.

“The complex will offer a safe and spacious working environment for our Western Australian team and enhance supply opportunities for our clients, with more stock readily available and streamlined processes for purchase and distribution,” said Bruce Rayment, chief executive of Alucobond Architectural and Octanorm Australia.

According to the company, the opening of the two complexes during the third quarter of 2010 will provide additional space and facilities for the importing and distribution of HVG’s product range, which includes high pressure laminates, decorative and architectural panel products, industrial and marine fabrics, stationery materials, graphics, digital media and display materials, and aluminium exhibition and shopfitting display systems.
