Hannanprint produces long-run magazine launch for ACP and Telstra

Telstra's business customers have all been sent a copy of Smarter Business Ideas magazine, whose first issue circulation is more than twice that of all other Australian business titles combined, claimed the telco.

The quarterly title is the result of a publishing partnership between Telstra and ACP and will be distributed to more than 525,000 customers.

ACP general manager for production Ian McHutchison told ProPrint that the first of these large magazine runs went smoothly, adding that "it was all planned out well from the start".

Hannanprint managing director Tony Dedda told ProPrint the company was very proud "but not intimidated" by the significant print run, which surpassed the expected 525,000 mark.

"It is a good run, but not a big one for Hannanprint. There are newspaper inserts that equal if not surpass this run, but it is up there with the big boys of the newspaper inserts," said Dedda.

The text pages are produced on Hannanprint's fleet of web presses, with covers supplied by neighboring Craft Inprint, also part of IPMG.

ACP Magazines Publishing director Gerry Reynolds said the new venture had proved popular with advertisers as the first issue sold out.

"Its success means we'll be quickly building up the number of pages, content and features for readers in upcoming issues," Reynolds said.

The magazine features practical advice and useable information for SMEs, with case studies of successful businesses sharing tips and experience are included.
