As pdfInspector3 is included in PDF HandShake UB, users can now automatically inspect PDF files to verify printing compatibility, and conformance with standards such as PDFX.
PdfInspector3, is the industry standard for checking PDF files, and is automated by PDF HandShake UB, to examine PDF files as soon as they are created, giving the same results as if each PDF was manually verified using Adobe Acrobat Professional
According to Sales Representative, Robert Krause, from Australia’s, Helios distributor company, DataBasics, this ensures ease of use, saves time, and ensures that incoming and outgoing PDF files are production compatible.
“The Helios PDF HandShake UB software, centralises the prepress process, because it allows all the checking of PDF files on the server. This has obvious advantages as you are not mucking around with the server on the local machines, and this saves time, and money,” he says.
“The main advantage is the quality aspect,” he continues. “You’re not relying on a third party engine to control your workflow and you are relying on the same thing that Adobe is relying on to ensure the consistency of your images,” he says.
One company Foramedia, an Austrian media house, is already benefiting from employing PDF verification when uploading files in Helios WebShare UB. In doing so, the company can check the quality of its PDF files via any web browser.
CIO of Floramedia, Hemut Otto Stuzig, says using a fully integrated PDF preflight workflow saves the company considerable time.
“We used to employ PitStop for manual preflighting on five desktop workstations and it was tedious,” says Stutzig. “When we migrated to Helios PDF HandShake with pdfInspektor, we achieved a fully automated, server-based PDF,” he says.
