HP announces reseller deal with Esko

As one of Esko’s resellers, HP will distribute two of the company’s digital front-end solutions; the Esko Optimize Pack and the Scope Pack. These Packs are both designed to decrease print preparation and colour management times and enhance the overall workflow potential of HP Indigo presses.

The agreement builds on a successful relationship between the two companies that began at Drupa 2004, when Esko first announced products designed to drive HP Indigo label and packaging presses.

According to vice president of HP Indigo division, Alon Bar-Shany, the deal will provide HP’s customers with a more comprehensive choice of digital front-end technology.

“We are supporting hybrid environments, where analog and digital printing co-exist, enabling converters to choose the right technology for each job. HP will maintain market leadership by offering new products and innovative new solutions that enable a smooth transformation to digital,” he says.

Esko says its two digital front-end solutions reduce colour matching time by as much as 50 per cent and include a number of special features that boost productivity. The Esko Optimize Pack features ICC-compliant multi-colour profiling, Esko FlexRIP, and Esko Kaleidoscope management and pre-written profiles of users’ specific HP Indigo press model and provides seamless output to HP Indigo press and digital proofing systems.

The Esko Scope Pack combines features of the Optimize Pack with the addition of features from Esko’s powerful Scope Pre-Production Workflow Software. This includes, automation capabilities and imposition and bar-coding tools provided by the Esko BackStage workflow server and Esko DeskPack packaging software.

HP demonstrated the Esko Pack and Esko Scope Pack driving solutions on the company’s new HP Indigo ws4500 and the HP Indigo press ws4050 at Labelexpo Americas 2006.

HP is a worldwide provider of technology and digital printing solutions for businesses and institutions. The company’s offerings span IT infrastructure, global services, business and home computing as well as imaging and printing.
