The Designjet 130 has been designed to offer fast colour stability and colour consistency, and utilises a new range of inks and media. The secret to its press emulated printing is in the system’s ability to change the lightness, hue and saturation of CMYK files, says HP. The new Designjets are capable of printing at 2400dpi resolution and at speeds up to one page per four minutes in standard mode.
Nelson Ferrari, HP Australia business development manager for large format imaging, says, “Professional designers can be assured that the proofs they create are colour accurate and that images maintain their vibrancy and impact. The HP Designjet 130 printer series incorporates new ink and media and a range of advanced HP Professional Colour management technologies to make their job easier, whether it is creating high quality images for in-house publishing, or accurate colour matching for pr-production proofs.”
The HP Designjet 130 features HP Colour Professional technologies, including Automatic Closed Loop Colour calibration and CMYK Plus to provide accurate colour consistency. The series also utilises automatic Pantone Calibration, offset emulation, and HP Colour Layering technology for a range of colours and smooth transitions. Both Mac and Windows operating systems are supported.
The series utilises HP 85 durable dye-based formulations designed to resist fading for up to 70 years. The printers come with a standard media output tray that holds a maximum 100 A2+ sheets as well as roll feed capability. The front bypass slot handles 625mm wide cut sheet stocks, while the back bypass handles heavy and rigid media stocks up to 300gsm.
