The vendor claims that the dual roll device will double the productivity of the L65500 (pictured) when using narrow rolls.
Previously, users could only print one roll at a time regardless of width. However, the dual roll kit allows two narrow rolls to be printed simultaneously.
Shane Lucas, director HP Graphic Arts South Pacific, told ProPrint: “Basically this allows a customer to print two totally different files at the same time – adding flexibility and time saving to their print offering. The local market is definitely asking for this and will provide an advantage to HP’s offering.”
According to HP, beta testers have achieved the same output levels with two 1.2m (48-inch) prints with the dual roll kit as with one 2.6m (104-inch) print.
The manufacturer claimed that the accessory can accommodate stock rolls of a variety of widths and lengths.
The device will be made available in the Australian market from 1 May.
