HP’s new six-colour press targets small to medium printers

Offering the best digital image quality capabilities in its class, the HP Indigo press 1050 is the successor to the market-leading HP Indigo press 1000 with enhanced personalisation and colour management capabilities. This makes it ideal for the production of high quality marketing materials including brochures, flyers and high impact customised direct mail pieces.

“This is the perfect low risk, entry level press for commercial printers, pre-press houses and digital production bureaus, who wants to make the transition into digital printing or add the “look and feel” of offset to their current digital portfolio,” said Charlie Trentacosti director for large format printing and HP Indigo, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. “The HP Indigo press 1050 allows for profitable short run printing while expanding production capabilities and creating new business opportunities through its many advanced features.”
Leveraging the proven technology and success of the HP Indigo press 1000, the HP Indigo press 1050 offers a number of enhancements that result in reduced cost of operation and increased productivity. A more powerful computer increases the computing and ripping performance while its large job-file capacity and simultaneous batching/printing ability, along with a wide substrate selection, allows it to perform a greater variety of printing jobs. Uptime is maximised by HP’s Instant Support System, which automatically alerts the Customer Care Centre when a problem occurs and allows a technician to remotely troubleshoot the press.
The HP Indigo press 1050 provides printers with a streamlined workflow and a total end-to-end solution through finishing solutions with Duplo near-line DC-645 – XY cutter, Duplo near-line PDC booklet maker and Dorn off-line UV coating.
For even greater value, the HP Indigo press 1050 prints in up to six colours, including invisible and fluorescent inks – giving it the widest selection of inks in its class and creating new business opportunities for commercial printers.
“Asia’s commercial print industry welcomes a digital press capable of delivering short-run high quality print. The HP Indigo press 1050 has impressive production capability to meet tight deadlines. The HP Indigo press 1050 fits their needs perfectly.” explained Steve Donegal, business manager of HP Indigo Asia Pacific.
