Bowden died peacefully aged 60 years. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 13 in the Heysen Chapel, Centennial Park, Goodwood Road, Pasadena in South Australia.
His family has asked that donations be made to the Cancer Council of South Australia in lieu of floral tributes. This can be done via the Cancer Council of SA, PO Box 929 Unley, 5061 South Australia.
Bowden Print is a family business that came into being in 1935 and grew into one of the most respected and innovative printing companies in South Australia, according to Printing Industries.
Ian James Bowden had a long and distinguished career with the business and as an industry representative at both state and national levels via the Printing Industries Association of Australia.
He began his association with Printing Industries in 1999 as a member of the South Australian and Northern Territory Regional Council. In 2000 he became Regional Council Vice President and an Alternate National Councillor.
In 2003 he was appointed president of the Regional Council and national vice president. He continued to serve in executive positions at state and national levels until 2009 when illness forced him to take leave of absence from his roles as regional president South Australia and Northern Territory and National Vice President.
Bowden is survived by his wife Leonie and children Naomi and Luke.
