Ipex to head down under for 2013 roadshows

The roadshows will take place next year and will use the Ipex 2014 theme of discovering and exploring print’s role within the marketing mix.

Each event will aim to engage with key print groups, associations and exhibitors by offering the latest industry analysis, trends and statistics, including discussions around growth opportunities and presentations of relevant case studies.

They will also provide networking opportunities and the latest updates on the 2014 event, including technology highlights and features that will be incorporated.

Event director Trevor Crawford told ProPrint the roadshows would have plenty to offer any Australians considering a trip to the “world-class international event” in its new London home.

“We look forward to engaging directly with the Australian print and communications communities, where we have always had a strong relationship over many cycles of Ipex, and have attending in large numbers,” said Crawford.

He admitted that the Heidelberg decision was disappointing, but “it underlines the inescapable fact that the business of print is evolving rapidly. So now [we are] over the disappointment and excited about the shape that Ipex will take over the next 20 months.”

Other countries on the hit list include Belgium, the Netherlands, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy Japan, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, the UK and the US.

Ipex suffered a double blow when Heidelberg and HP, the two largest exhibitors at the 2010 event, both withdrew from the 2014 trade fair.

Ipex 2014 will relocate to London’s Excel exhibition centre from its traditional home at the NEC in Birmingham.
