The news means that all of IPMG’s NSW offset plants – Craft Printing, Offset Alpine Printing and Hannanprint – are now PSO-certified for consistent and predictable colour reproduction to ISO 12647-2 standards.
The company said it expects its operations in Victoria and Queensland will soon join their NSW counterparts in being fully PSO-certified.
“PSO certification is very much linked to specific printing sites, presses, processes and people,” says Luke Wooldridge, colour specialist with Kayell Australia, which oversaw the certification. “Even large groups such as IPMG need to implement it at site level, so it is terrific to see the widening adoption of PSO throughout the group”
“One hundred percent is a hard score to beat and Hannanprint are to be commended but it should be remembered that FOGRA PSO is an on-going process with re-testing every year to maintain certification,” said Kayell Australia director Robert Gatto.
“The old days of finger-pointing when colour goes astray are ending fast. PSO under FOGRA is the stake-in-the-ground that unites all those involved in print production, to a common purpose of excellence.”
