IVE Group MD Matt Aitken to award Geoff Selig Scholarship at ProPrint Awards

To commemorate the contribution of former IVE Group chairman, Geoff Selig, a new $10,000 Scholarship will be awarded at the 2024 ProPrint Awards later this month.

Geoff Selig was the former executive chairman of IVE Group, and at the 2023 ProPrint Awards he was recognised with the peer-voted Industry Achievement Award for service to the industry.

Geoff tragically passed away earlier this year and this Scholarship is dedicated to Geoff’s passion for encouraging emerging talent within the industry, and his desire to see people grow and thrive as well as the enjoyment he received from seeing people develop and succeed.

All finalists for this year’s 2024 ProPrint Awards Emerging 50 category are eligible to enter to win the inaugural Geoff Selig Scholarship.

This Scholarship provides a financial value of up to $10,000 for personal and professional development and will be funded jointly by ProPrint and the IVE Group.

The winner of this year’s Geoff Selig Scholarship must answer three questions based on how the financial award will improve themselves, their employer and the industry as a whole.

The Scholarship winner can use the financial award for any purpose and this must be clearly referenced within the answers to the questions.

The Scholarship presented at the ProPrint Awards will be judged by ProPrint and IVE Group. For this Scholarship presented at the ProPrint Awards, IVE Group employees will not be eligible to enter as there will be additional Scholarships available for employees only.

“Geoff was third generation from the Selig family in our business and he was a pioneer in the industry for over 40 years,” said IVE Group managing director, Matt Aitken.

“IVE would not be where it is today with Geoff’s vision, courage and passion for our staff and our clients. These Scholarships will provide an opportunity to apply for funding towards professional development.

“The premise of these Scholarships is centred around Geoff’s love of people, our staff and the industry and his want for people to grow and thrive, as well as the enjoyment he received from seeing people develop and succeed in life.”

“On behalf of ProPrint and the broader Printer Media Group and The Intermedia Group employees, I am very proud to continue Geoff’s legacy and support the passionate and driven people representing the next generation of the local printing community,” said ProPrint and Printer Media Group managing director, James Wells.
