JayPak celebrates 30 years with open house

Some 90 people attended the evening, which included speeches from several people including John Fraurud the managing director of JayPak, as well as representatives from the local chamber of commerce, the St George bank, as well as KBA Australasia general manager Dave Lewis.

Jayden Fraurud, general manager, JayPak told Australian Printer, “It was an excellent evening to showcase our new machinery to our customers and suppliers. It was a wonderful opportunity to send a positive message to the industry and highlight that JayPak is making solid investments in leading edge technology. This allows us to offer exceptional packaging value and shorter lead times to our client base. Our main objective was to put on a show for everyone and reflect on a massive 2012.”

The first demonstration was the KBA printing press running at maximum 18,000 sheets an hour, followed by a six minute plate change.

Dave Lewis, general manager, KBA Australasia told Australian Printer, “We ran the KBA Rapida 106 double coating press at 18,000 sheets per hour on live work including a full make-ready and demonstrated the press automation including full pile logistics at feeder and delivery.”

Lewis says, “The whole evening was designed with a positive message in mind regarding the Australian printing industry and local manufacturing in Perth. It was a great success. “

JayPak recently installed the new KBA Rapida 106 six-colour press, which comes with inline double coater and full non-stop pallet logistics, and a new Bobst ExpertFold folder gluer with CartonPack GT, which was also demonstrated.

In attendance were JayPak customers, suppliers and business partners, Fraurud says, “We had a banking representative discuss the finance sector for small to medium enterprise in Western Australia, as well as a delegate from the chamber of commerce to speak about manufacturing in Western Australia.”

The demonstration gave JayPak customers an insight into the new KBA press and what it has to offer. Fraurud says, “It showed our clients and their respective employees, what high volume carton printing is all about.”

Fraurud says, “The major benefits of the new KBA Rapida is the high speed carton printing at 18,000 sheets per hour, full non-stop pallet changeovers, thanks to the pile logistics system and double coating aqueous and UV capability in a single pass operation.

Carsten Wendler from Ferrostaal Australia also presented a demonstration on JayPak’s new Bobst ExpertFold folder gluer with CartonPack GT.
