Kodak latest to exit Ipex floorplan

Kodak had booked 1,600sqm but has now turned its focus away from the tradeshow, and says it plans to engage more directly with printers through targeted open days, technology shows, and customer focused events.

Adrian Fleming, managing director, Kodak ANZ told Australian Printer, “The decision was solely based from our North American and European operations. The decision is based on customer feedback, as customer say that they would prefer direct contact and interaction rather than at tradeshows.”

Fleming says, “Operations in Australia have been positive and we are continuing to support our customers through direct interaction.”

Kodak joins the list of companies who have now pulled out from the biggest English language print trade show in the world and now includes Heidelberg, KBA, Komori, HP, Landa, Agfa and Xerox.

Kodak recently announced a major win in its attempt to move out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the US, with the $525m sale of patents, which not only injected cash from the deal but released a further $830m in loans.
