Kodak to raise worldwide plate prices

Local business development manager Robert Mollee confirmed to ProPrint that price rises would take effect in Australia.

“A global announcement was made to help ensure all of our customers receive this important information in a timely manner. However, each region will determine specific increases for customers and advise them accordingly,” he said.

Mollee stressed that: “All current contractual commitments will be honoured.”

Kodak’s worldwide statement said the price increases for digital plates would be in the range of 5-10% while the increase in conventional plates would be 15-20%.

The vendor blamed a “universal rise in costs for key raw materials and utilities used in the production of offset plates” for the price increase.

Full details of the price increases will be made available in April.
