Kaji thanked customers for their strong support especially over the past two years which has led to Konica Minolta's strengthened position in the production printing market.
He then introduced guest speaker, former test cricketer Kerry O'Keeff, who reflected on the 2007-8 cricket season and delivered some personal anecdotes from his career in first class cricket.
"The new showroom features a complete range of bizhub Pro colour machines including the 6500, 920 and C500 in nine different configurations with finishing equipment such as folding, stitching, trimming and celloglazing," says David Procter, national manager – Printing Production Group at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia.
"Two years ago, we had a relatively small presence in the production market," says Procter, "but our market share has grown considerably in this short time and with it, so has the commitment of Konica Minolta to the market, which is demonstrated by the launch of our showroom."
The showroom will provide a back-up facility for clients and will take on some internal printing functions for Konica Minolta.
New products due for demonstration in the showroom include 300-page perfect binders for Konica Minolta's 1050 and 6500 machines.
Rumour has it that Konica Minolta will launch a new 120ppm black & white printer at drupa, but no details are available yet.
