Konica Minolta to unveil new Sydney HQ

As was forecast in July, the company has upgraded its office, showroom and warehouse facility and moved to a new environmentally-friendly glass building named Konica Minolta House (pictured).

Konica Minolta will also offset the carbon emissions at this Friday’s opening with the planting of 200 native Australian trees.

Designed by Bates Smart, the new building contains a ground-floor showroom, as well as dedicated technical and customer training facilities, with both staff and customers given access to an on-site café and crèche.

The company has even opted for carpet reflecting the colours included in the CMYK palette.

“Our impressive new office space has already created a buzz for staff and clients coming to the building for meetings and demonstrations,” said David Cooke, executive general manager of Konica Minolta Business Solutions. “We hope we will continue to see the Konica Minolta business offering grow and prosper while supporting the environment wherever we can.”

The new site was designed to attain a 4.5-star National Australian Built Environmental Rating System (NABERS). Konica Minolta is basing this aim on a recent survey conducted as part of the company’s seminar series ‘Innovation: Mind the Gap’. The statistics show that 90 per cent of Australian professionals believe their organisation is not doing enough to reduce its environmental footprint, and 62 per cent believe they would be more productive when working in an eco-friendly environment.
