Landa presses on, Nano white paper released

The white paper highlights the differences between Nanography and other print technologies. Nanography was introduced at drupa with great pazazz, with Benny Landa claiming it had an unbeatable combination of the quality and speed of offset, together with the versatility and short-run economics of digital.

Nanography is set for its commercial launch at Ipex 2014, and has already signed up Komori, Heidelberg and manroland as partners, although they are mainly viewing it as a speculative technology. Benny Landa believes Nanographic printing will become the predominant print process. He signed up more than 200 printers at drupa – at $10,000 a pop – for a place in the queue to buy a Nano press. It is called nanography as it employs nano sized ink particles.

Topics that are in the white paper include; the characteristics and limitations of current digital printing technologies; a description of Landa NanoInk and the Nanographic printing process; characteristics of dots printed with Landa NanoInk and the transfer of the printed image to any substrate.

Gilad Tzori, vice president of product strategy, Landa says, “The white paper is designed to both educate the market on the Nanographic printing process and highlight the economic advantages and eco-friendliness of the technology. It also demonstrates our commitment to provide customers with information on an ongoing basis as we continue the work on product development and bring the presses to full commercial availability.”

The white paper can be downloaded from the Landa website.

The Landa Group was founded ten years ago by Benny Landa, following Hewlett Packard’s acquisition of Indigo – which Landa founded 25 years earlier – for the not insignificant sum of $750m. Landa Group is developing Nanography, as well as investing in start up Israeli technology companies, and it has a philanthropic arm.
