Trade outfit LEP Colour Printers says a recent efficiency review of its operations in Brisbane and Victoria has led to much faster turnarounds, guaranteeing next-day despatch for offset prints. The trade printer’s next-day despatch product range includes premium 400gsm offset business cards, 150gsm and 250gsm DLs, brochures and flyers, as well as 90gsm and 100gsm bond stationery products up to a quantity of 10,000. The company will not reveal how it achieved the faster service options because ‘it will give the competition’ an advantage. However LEP, which has implemented a lean manufacturing strategy, constantly reviews its procedures to find new efficiencies through those guidelines, which have been instrumental in its growth. The company says it will ensure that, if an order for brochures on gloss 150gsm stock is placed before 2pm, the product is delivered direct to its customer the next-day, anywhere in Australia. Previously the dispatch time was 10am, but the company says many of its customers missed the cut-off time, leading to the company changing it to 2pm, and ‘challenging’ itself to deliver the products. Whether faster turnarounds will help the bottom line is something that LEP says is ‘impossible to predict’ however, the fast service will ensure it remains competitive. LEP holds Sustainable Green Print Level 2 certification, so end clients can be confident their print projects are sustainably produced.
