Trade outfit LEP Colour Printers has cut the ribbon on its new facility in Port Melbourne, set to deliver print in shorter turnaround times to customers in the southern states. To celebrate the company is giving away a new LEP sample kit, which it says it valued at $150, to customers until the offer ends on September 30. The new 1561sqm Port Melbourne facility effectively doubles the company’s production capacity as it is practically a duplicate of LEP’s Forest Glen site in Queensland. The technology includes a Ryobi 925 press, an Agfa Avalon N8 platesetter with Azura process-free plates and Heidelberg, G&K and Osako equipment.

The kit will now work to deliver faster turnarounds and freight times for customers in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and even southern New South Wales. LEP says those clients will have access to more than 200 next-day despatch print products, and be able to take advantage of cheaper freight costs, making their print even more competitive to end customers. John Bromfield, CEO of LEP, says, “We have been preparing for this opening for some time, and are grateful for the assistance we have received from our valued supply partners in ensuring that the new facility is state of the art and set up exactly as we always wished it to be. “All our customers will benefit from this new facility, with faster job turnarounds, guaranteed print quality, and even more responsive personal service. “We are looking forward to welcoming new customers, especially in the southern states, to show them how we can assist them to grow their own business.” The company says its head office and Queensland production facility remain unchanged, and will continue to service clients as normal.
