
South Australian flexo label printer, Jacob Williams, has won a $10,000 Visual Connections/Lithographic Institute of Australia (LIA) scholarship after being named Graduate of the Year at the 2022 National Print Awards.
Other winners on the night included Matilda Mulligan from Fildes was awarded the $5,000 LIA Future Leaders Award.
LIA national president, Mel Ireland, announced the winner during the 2022 National Print Awards, and said each of the state graduate winners were required to make a submission and participate in a panel interview as part of the judging process.

The competition was tough but Williams was deemed the eventual winner.
Williams, who was with Multi-Color Corporation but is now with Ultra Labels, will be able to take advantage of a $10,000 scholarship provided by Visual Connections and the LIA to help further enhance his career through education and trips to overseas trade shows, such as drupa.
Heidelberg are also keen supporters of this important programme and were acknowledged for flying each state-based finalist to Melbourne and accommodating them during PacPrint so they can continue to learn, engage and bond with eachother in preparation for a career in this industry.
In other news from the LIA, Bernie Hocking from G2psd and Mitchell Mulligan from Bottcher were both inducted into the LIA’s Lifetime Membership award after decades of distinguished service as volunteers to this assocation.
