The move, which comes less than one year after the start-up established itself at a site in Mount Eden, gives it room for work produced on its new Manroland 702 press, which is an existing machine that was moved across from its Sydney plant.
Ligare New Zealand general manager Steven Spears said relocating to a larger site had been on the cards for a while and the new premises in Glenfield had space for future machinery investments.
“It was always part of the plan to move into this site. We sought it out because of the requirements for what we needed due to the larger-run work we are now producing,” he said.
Spears said the site had been in operation since late February with the Manroland launched successfully and the digital machines running at full capacity.
“We’re experiencing a good amount of growth and our digital work is at capacity. We have had increased demand for longer runs so we decided now was the perfect time to invest in offset equipment,” he said.
The plant list includes the Roland 702, two black-and-white Océ machines, an Océ VarioPrint 6250 and a range of finishing equipment.
