The largest format press performing at Print 05 – a 64” Roland 900 XXL six colour with coater – was the star of the MAN Roland pavilion, which also featured new web press innovations.

An eight-colour Roland 700 perfector with inline coating and a six colour with coater Roland 500 were also demonstrated for visitors to the exhibition.

MAN Roland CEO Yves Rogivue says the company has discovered printers prefer seeing their products performing in a realistic work environment, which shows like Print 05 provide.

“It may be one of the reasons our sales are rising,” he says. “We had a solid second quarter this year, and our accomplishments announced at Print 05 bode well for the third quarter.”

West Coast printing powerhouse Monarch Litho was the biggest purchaser with five presses from MAN Roland – a 73” Roland 900 XXL six colour with coating, three 41” Roland 700 six colour with coater perfectors and an eight colour with coater Roland 700 perfector.
