The manroland Goss Group exhibited at the recent China Print tradeshow in Beijing, where it highlighted its expertise in digital folding lines as well as conventional offset technologies, including the Lithoman and Rotoman DirectDrive systems.
At the event, manroland Goss Group China managing director Tony Wen said, “We offer the highest speed in digital inline folding worldwide. We have always presented our high-end products to customers, and that’s exactly what we are doing here at China Print.
“High-volume digital production is becoming increasingly popular in China. While traditional print methods will continue to play a role, digital printing is set to flourish in the coming years. In response to this market trend, we are actively educating customers about our latest innovations:
“With our digital finishing systems – FoldLine and FormerLine – we achieve high-speed inline production at 305m/min, supporting 24/7 shift operations.
“In the area of conventional offset printing, our portfolio includes the Lithoman and Rotoman presses.”
The Lithoman holds a leading position worldwide in the high-quality, high-volume segment. With its state-of-the-art drive technology, more than 350 systems are currently in operation globally, producing magazines, catalogues, directories, and advertising supplements.
Capable of prints ranging from 32 to 96 pages, in both short and long grain formats, Wen said the Lithoman’s productivity is helping web offset printing take over gravure production volumes, as offset is a more environmentally friendly solution.
The Lithoman is specifically designed for industrial-scale printing of magazines and catalogues with medium to high page counts and small to large print runs.
“Its versatility in handling both short and long grain products, along with various folding options, ensures that all market requirements are met,” Wen said.
Soon Wee Hong, sales and service manager for Southeast Asia at manroland Goss Group, added,
“The Lithoman can run two print jobs simultaneously, with the folder processing and folding them accordingly. Despite its impressive size – over 50m long – only one or two operators are needed to run it, thanks to its high level of automation.
“We customise each machine to meet our customers’ specific requirements and prepare them accordingly.”
The Rotoman DirectDrive is particularly well-suited for environments with frequent job changes.
It is designed to meet the needs of highly demanding 16-page commercial printers. Automation features enable extremely short makeready times, high reproducibility, and minimal start-up waste, all while maintaining premium print quality.
The Rotoman DirectDrive is capable of 75,000 revolutions per hour and offers a maximum web width of 39 inches.
Optional additional equipment for both Lithoman and Rotoman presses includes: PECOM-X, Automatic Plate Loading, DynaChange, Inline Density Control, Inline Finishing Modules, and a Second Cross Fold.
