The client required a press that was user friendly, quick change, and more importantly, a real work horse to keep up with its increasing demands.
Several small format presses were being considered, before the company finally decided on the Mark Andy 10″ Scout.
With a 40″ unwind, removable print units, quick release Harper anilox rolls, controlled web tension and three die slots as standard, it was the ideal press to tend to their requirements.
To help increase the efficiency of the press, the client also combined a KTI, JR turret rewind from Keene Technology (KTI).
Fully optioned with Automatic core and tail gluing, dancer tension control and roll eject assist, continuous winding is made easily and efficiently. Finished rolls are consistent, which was a demand from the end user.
Having been specified with 1″, 1.5″ and 3″ cores, gives the flexibility in offering their customers any format they require. Changing the shafts takes only a few minutes.
Agent Aldus says combining the Scout and KTI has given the client an advantage in producing finished rolls in line, minimising the normal lead times required, which also impacts on their scheduling.
