Market anticipates super-wide HP Designjet 10000s launch

Chris Lewis-Williams of HP Designjet reseller iMedia in Melbourne says interest has been high in the latest offering from HP in the wide format market.

“iMedia has an extensive portfolio of machines available,” says Lewis-Williams. “The HP10000s is currently the best speed/quality machine we have available.”

The new HP Designjet 10000s Printer series delivers high-quality, super-wide 264cm signs, outdoor banners, and large graphic printouts with a striking array of colours brought about by HP’s sophisticated low-solvent ink formulations and technology.

Designed to ensure uncompromising reliability, image quality, durability and performance, this high powered printer offers high productivity and improves cost efficiency by printing double sided banners and dual-roll printing for long production runs.

Active Display Group, a customer of iMedia, was so enamoured with the printer, after trialing the HP Designjet 9000s Printer series, that they’ve signed up for two Designjet 10000s printers due for delivery within the month.

With its print production site in Mulgrave, distribution warehouse in Chelsea and hardware manufacture and Head Office in Keysborough, Active Display Group offers a wide variety of display products, printing services (screen, offset and digital), logistics and industrial design to a broad spectrum of clients.

One of the directors, and the company’s Print Operations Manager, Jeff Clifford, says Active’s relationship with the HP Designjet printers started with the release of the 3500 series.

“We started with two of these printers and then moved up to the Designjet 5500 of which we now have five,” says Slifford. “We have been running them virtually flat-out since we got them; it is a real success story. We regularly run them through the night – they are trouble free and the quality is consistently good.

“I was hoping the new Designjet 10000s would be as good as the 5500 series in terms of quality and performance, and it is … they’re fantastic.

“The main benefits of the Designjet 10000s are the cost savings, quality of output, speed and the size. Being able to print at this width enables us to produce large format work at high resolution for a very wide range of applications both indoors and out.”
