The latest addition to this line up is the fully automated MBO T800 6/4/4 – navigator folder with a continuous feeder and presser stacker, which allows Quality Press to keep up with the high output – 15,000 sheets per hour in perfecting mode – from its Komori A1-size ten-colour printing press.
The spiral rollers give a better grip of paper and ensure minimum ink pick up, with no marking from the steel knurls often found on other manufacturers’ roller designs. The T800 is belt-driven instead of gear-driven which is unique to MBO. The T800 is maintenance free with sealed bearings that does not require greasing. Regular maintenance can be over looked by operators of other types of folders resulting in downtime and increased costs.
Ramesh Patel Director of Quality Press WA, confirms speed was one of the main criteria in the choice of the MBO T800. “This machine is 50% faster than the previous models with the advantage of being fully automated. The increase in speed and automation means an increase in productivity while significantly reducing production costs.”
The team in the finishing department received training on the MBO T800 from the Australian agent Ferrostaal that installed the folder at Quality Press’s Osborne Park premises in July. “This is my first experience with Ferrostaal,” states Patel. “They were professional, friendly, accommodating, flexible, and worked around our requirements. By automating the manual process their solution has enabled us to increase profitability. The direct benefit is much better economy, which we pass onto our customers.”
