Mimaki Australia, together with Velflex and Siser, is hosting its DTF Innovation Roadshow in Sydney today, following a successful event at its Melbourne showroom last week.
Held at Mimaki Australia’s Sydney Experience Centre, the event offers visitors the opportunity to explore the latest technology driving Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing and why Mimaki is setting the standard for reliability and quality in the market.
Products on show include Mimaki’s first UV-curable Direct-to-Film (UV-DTF) printer, the Mimaki UJV300DTF-75, as well as the Mimaki TxF300-75 and Mimaki CJV200-75.
Attendees also have the chance to discover the technology behind better transfers, learn how to set up a print room, and explore strategies to scale and grow their businesses.
Sprinter attended the event this morning where Velflex managing director Ben Carroll said the roadshow provides an opportunity for attendees to see what’s in the market and gain insights into the DTF trends that are set to shape the future.
“We know DTF is the big corner piece for garment decoration now, but with everybody doing it, people are looking at how can they stand out,” he said.
“We’re talking about mixed meters, going back to HTV, and using products that have been around for six to eight years – like dimensional films, glitters, heat transfer vinyl, or white-label options such as ‘white box’, which has really helped push the puff trend,” he said.
“The idea is to take these elements and incorporate them into more complex DTF designs. At this event, we’re demonstrating real-life applications and showing attendees just how easy it is to produce these kinds of transfers in-house.
“We’re also showcasing UV DTF. This is more specifically for the smaller ‘mum and dad’ shops that haven’t had access to hard goods decoration without outsourcing to larger promotional suppliers.
“With UV DTF, they can now create custom, one-off items in-house. It is really cost effective to produce them in small quantities. Mimaki has a machine that it’s demonstrating today.
“There’s only one in the country – the UJV300DTF-75 – which has been making the rounds on the Australian roadshow. It was launched at FESPA and we saw it at PacPrint. Mimaki plans on making this machine available for purchase in the coming weeks.”
Mimaki Australia managing director Kohei Kobayashi said, “The roadshows have been a great success. We’ve had many people turn up to the Brisbane roadshow we ran in June and to the one in Melbourne last week.
“The people who have attended these events are all very excited about Mimaki’s technology. We’re also using this opportunity to showcase the UJV300DTF-75, which will be available from early August.”
Mimaki Australia senior marketing officer Claudio Zarantonello said the turnout of the Sydney event has been great so far.
“I believe the people that turned up today got a lot out of the session. They were interested in textile and apparel, but also about DTF – wanting to understand what it’s about, how it can impact their business, or what it can do for their business or any future business,” he said.
“There was a lot of interest in the UJV300DTF-75. People were trying to get their heads around the application process and its durability. Of course, it ticks all the boxes and some of the samples that we have here on display would have given them that comprehension. It has been a very successful day so far.”
Over the past few months, Mimaki Australia has also made significant strides in expanding its national service agency network, reinforcing its commitment to delivering faster, more responsive customer support across the country.
With the addition of new service capabilities in Perth and Adelaide, its focus is on ensuring customers receive the technical assistance they need – when and where they need it. At the core of this initiative is Mimaki Australia’s Total Care Warranty – a comprehensive support package designed to provide customers with true peace of mind.
The Total Care Warranty is an all-inclusive policy that includes parts and labour, metropolitan travel costs, and annual preventative maintenance.
