MPG merger paying off for Opus

Richard Celarc, general manager of the Opus Group’s publishing division says, “We are pleased to report, on an annualised basis, we have already achieved 20 per cent of the integration benefits and are confident that our leadership team is capable of delivering further cost savings.”

Celarc, who is a founding shareholder in Opus with more than 35 years’ experience in all aspects of the industry, is overseeing the integration of the MPG business.

Meanwhile, Alan Fahy, formerly CEO of MPG is stepping down after seven years of heading the business. Bill Mackarell, chairman of the Opus Group, paid tribute to Fahy and his contribution to the MPG business.

Mackarell,  says, “Alan has overseen a significant period of change for the MPG business and has been instrumental in the successful merger of OPUS and MPG.

“One of Alan’s finest achievements, along with his team, has been the implementation of the world leading inkjet digital technology recently commissioned at MPG. We thank Alan for his contribution and wish him all the very best.”

In a further senior management appointment, Mike Angless has been appointed UK sales manager for Opus, based in London.

The appointment reflects the group’s focus on extending its global reach and follows Opus’ attendance at the London Book Fair where its global offer, focusing on digital content delivery and business services extension, was unveiled.
