Stone-Paper is manufactured from calcium carbonate powder using proprietary adhesives as a bonding agent. The calcium carbonate is collected as a waste material at existing limestone quarries and is ground up into a fine white chalk powder.
A small quantity of non-toxic resin is then added and together these materials are converted into a printable substrate.
John Brannan, sales manager at Network Marketing says, “Stone-Paper is water resistant, tree free and acid free. No water or chemicals are used in its manufacture and it is therefore a truly earth friendly substrate for the printing industry.
“The energy footprint used to make Stone-Paper is lower than the footprint to make traditional paper and synthetic substrate. It is the world’s most environmentally friendly paper.”
According to Network Marketing Stone-Paper is suitable for a range of printed material including tags, labels, catalogues, posters, packaging and outdoor applications. The company will showcase
Stone-Paper at its stand during Printex 11.
Also in the news, Network Marketing has been appointed the Australian distributer for ClingZ, a patented, electrically charged polypropylene film that adheres to virtually any indoor surface.
The company adds that ClingZ – which is being offered in white and clear – is more versatile than static cling vinyl, clinging to glass, wood, metal, concrete and plaster without adhesive.
Brannan continues, “ClingZ can be applied with either side, so displaying a message with the printed side to a window is a snap. It can also be easily repositioned and removed. It’s no wonder people are
inspired when they see ClingZ in action. Ideas begin to flow, the applications are endless.”
ClingZ will also make its Australian debut at Printex.
