The newly-created team will use its expertise and experience to co-ordinate all direct and indirect activities associated with this evolving market, while promoting the company's product and service offering to Konica Minolta customers. Recent releases include the highly successful bizhub PRO1050 and the C6500 production and C6500 professional digital colour presses.
David Procter, national manager, Production Printing Group, said: "Our progress over the last 12 months has allowed us to create this new management team. With this additional experience and support, we are able to continue managing the growth and continually improve our customers' satisfaction."
The role of the Production Printing Group will be to:
- Provide world-class products and services to clients
- Support Konica Minolta clients' own business growth
- Grow market share in the production printing market
- Coordinate all service and sales activities of the production printing team
Using the company's highly advanced digital presses and leveraging its alliances with software companies, such as EFI, Print on Demand Solutions, DirectSmile and Objectif Lune, Konica Minolta will enable existing and prospective customers to fully realise their potential and ultimately strengthen their businesses.
Brett Palmer, national product manager, Production Printing Group continued: "The focus of Konica Minolta globally has shifted over the last two years toward the production printing market. In line with this move, the creation of this strategic group will allow us to focus on the most important people in this market – the customer."
It is anticipated that the Production Printing Group team will expand quickly with several new appointments planned for the coming months.
PPG key personnel are:
David Cooke – general manager
Joining Konica Minolta in 2005, David has 20 years in the industry and a wealth of experience in leadership, sales and marketing, client engagement and internal organisation.
His appointment as general manager, Production Printing Group, will be held concurrently with his role as general manager, Direct Sales which encompasses responsibility for all the branches in Australia.
David Procter – national manager
Bringing over 20 years of industry experience to the table, Proctor most recently worked as national operations manager for Digital Print Solutions and Product Marketing Manager – Light Production for Konica Minolta.
He will be responsible for strengthening and managing the Production Printing Group and will report directly to David Cooke.
Justin Turner – national sales manager
Justin has spent five years in sales and business development for production print, following several years in retail management in computers and home electronics. His experience encompasses a broad spectrum of the production print market from Quick Print to Large Commercial Printers (LCP).
His role within the Production Printing Group will focus on growing share in all market segments.
Brett Palmer – national product manager
The focus of Palmer's role as National Product Manager will be to manage, promote and position Konica Minolta's bizhub production printing hardware and software.
Palmer has more than 20 years experience working in this industry. He previously held the role of product support manager and national product manager – Digital Print Solutions, providing marketing and channel support for the Konica Minolta range and specialising in the entire production arena and multiple distribution channels – direct sales, dealer sales and alliance.
Darrell John – national production analyst
John brings to the team 12 years of experience in the production printing sector and the focus of his new role will be in the colour space, with the next six months' focus being on variable data and one-on-one marketing.
For the last four-and-a-half years, John has held the position of branch analyst at Konica Minolta Business Solutions, where he was responsible for production printing sales and IT support.
