Nominations now open for 2024 ProPrint Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2024 ProPrint Awards – to be held on Friday 25 October at Shangri-La Sydney.

Tickets for the awards are now available – and an early bird discount is currently available for individual ticket sales as well as tables of 10 seats.

Printer 50

Formerly known as the Power 50, you can nominate more than one person in this category and it is also possible to have more than one Printer 50 nominee from the same company. Self-nominations are also accepted.

The Printer 50 category only accepts nominations for individuals who are printers or work for a printing organisation. If you represent or work for an association, service provider, lobby group, trade show organiser as well as equipment and consumable suppliers, please nominate under the Supplier 50 category.

This is a peer-voted award. Printer 50 nominees who meet the entrance criteria are invited to become judges and have the opportunity to judge their peers before the results are externally audited. The judging process is conducted online and involves judges ranking their Top 25 nominees against a set criteria.

External, independent auditors will then review the results. The Top 25 leaders are ranked, and the remaining 25 leaders will be announced at the ProPrint Awards alphabetically.

Emerging 50

This award recognises rising stars from all parts of print with five years or less experience. This includes graphic designers, prepress operators, production assistants, post-press supervisors and finishing specialists as well as employees responsible for distribution, sales, administration and account management with approximately five years or less experience working in the industry.

Recipients of the Emerging 50 will be judged on the quality and the detail provided within their submission and the supplementary materials provided. It is possible to nominate more than one person and it is also possible to have more than one Emerging 50 recipient from the same company. Self-nominations are accepted. All Emerging 50 recipients will be acknowledged in alphabetical order at the 2024 ProPrint Awards.

Supplier 50

This award recognises those who service and supply the industry and people committed to providing quality service and advice. They are collaborative in their work ethic to find the best solution and must have proven to have gone above and beyond to get the job done. Recipients are judged on the quality of their submissions and industry achievements over the last 12 months.

There is no overall winner of the Supplier 50 – all recipients will be acknowledged in alphabetical order at the ProPrint Awards.

Industry Achievement Award

Now in its third year, the Industry Achievement Award honours an industry legend with more than 25 years of experience. The recipient of the Industry Achievement Award will have made a significant contribution to the industry beyond their own business. The winner is judged by the 2023 Printer 50 Top Ten and Platinum Sponsor, Durst Oceania. The winner will be announced at the ProPrint Awards and published in the December 2024 issue of ProPrint.

Outstanding Achievement in Sustainability

The Outstanding Achievement in Sustainability Award is awarded to a company that is undertaking sustainable practices within their organisation, using sustainable materials or has achieved specific sustainability benchmarks or improvements over the last 12 months. This award can be presented to either a printer or a supplier as well as a third party organisation working closely with the printing industry. Nominees must present examples of their sustainability initiatives for judging. The winner of this award is judged by the ProPrint Awards team. The winner will be announced at the ProPrint Awards and published in the December 2024 issue of ProPrint.

Frequently asked questions

Can I self-nominate?

Yes. You can also be nominated by a colleague. If you receive multiple ‘Congratulations’ emails, this means that lots of people have nominated you – so you are very popular! But you only have to complete your submission (answer the questions, submit a headshot image) once.

Can multiple nominees come from the same company?

Yes.

Does my chance of winning go up the more nominations I get?

No. Many people may nominate you BUT you only need to make ONE submission, and this is what will be assessed.

How are the submissions judged?

The Top 25 winners of the Printer 50 will be decided in a 100 per cent peer-voted judging exercise. Each successful nominee will be sent a judging link to determine the Top 25 winners. The 25 to 50 winners will be listed alphabetically.

Recipients of the Emerging 50 will be judged on the quality and the detail provided within their submission and the supplementary materials provided.

Supplier 50 recipients will be judged on the quality of their submission based on their achievements over the last 12 months and will be listed alphabetically.

What is the maximum industry experience for an Emerging 50 nominee?

Five years or less.

How will I know if I have won?

Your name will be called at the ProPrint Awards on Friday 25 October in Sydney. Your name, photo and a brief biography based on your submission will be published in the December 2024 issue of ProPrint.
