Offset holding its own at Ipex

Organisers say that amidst the current economic climate, Ipex 2010 has remained a popular platform for offset companies to showcase their machinery and newest technologies. Of all lithographic press manufacturers situated across four halls, Heidelberg, KBA, Goss, manroland and Komori will have the largest stands at the show.

Trevor Crawford, Ipex 2010 event director says, “Close on 30 per cent of the show’s floorspace will be devoted to offset, proving that it continues to play a highly important role in print production.”

He continues, “Feedback from exhibitors indicates that visitors can expect innovative new equipment at the show with a strong focus on automation, productivity and added value options to help printers stay competitive and create new business opportunities in this tough market.”

Other offset manufacturers set to have a a major presence at the show, include Mitsubishi, Presstek, Sakurai, Ryobi, Shinohara, UPGroup and Shangahi Electric.

Also commenting on the upcoming show George Clarke, managing director of Heidelberg UK says, “Lean manufacturing, environmental solutions and colour control will be key issues at this show.

“The printers’ customers care much more about quality and sustainability than ever before. Certification, accreditations and proven control mechanisms are expected and often need to be specified in tender documents.”

Ipex 2010 opens at the NEC, Birmingham, from May 18-25, 2010.
