Drent Goebel says the press allows print buyers to constantly change their strategy and introduce new products in different packaging.

“The flexibility of Drent Goebel’s VSOP press enables one machine to print all types of labels as well as folding carton. Print buyers no longer need to shop around,” says a spokesperson from the company.

Normally four different trades can be required – a gravure printer if the job involves long print runs and high quality, a flexographic printer if average length runs are required for standard flexible packaging materials, a sheet-fed offset printer for printing folding cartons, and a label printer with a narrow-web flexo press for self adhesive labels.

As print buyers would rather place different types of printing with a single printer, the VSOP press strengthens a printer’s negotiating position, improving logistics and communication, achieving savings in make-ready cost and gaining time and abandoning differences in quality of the end product.

A label printer with a VSOP can benefit from the flexibility of this machine and supply a number of products from the same machine. This enables a print buyer to go to one single printer for requirements such as wet-glue and wraparound paper labels, film bottle wraparounds, flexible packaging, self-adhesive labels, in-mould labels and shrink sleeves.
