Optimo Designs takes first on-line Lüscher Xpose! 75

Lüscher CTP solutions are manufactured in Switzerland and supplied in Australia by Ferag.

Optimo’s managing director Heath Sheftz says, “We want to provide our customers with plates that have been produced in-house so they are delivered quality assured.”

Optimo Designs is just seven years old, it was founded by Sheftz and his brother Byron. Today it has some 20 employees, and offers a full graphic design to output service, including imagesetting, proofing, and now platesetting.

Heath Sheftz says, “When it came to the choice of CTP we analysed the market carefully. We concluded that the Lüscher XPose! 75 was the solution that would satisfy the requirements of our customers and would allow us to easily produce consistently high quality plates.

“Primarily when we looked at the Xpose! 75 its quality of build and of output was very impressive, Swiss manufacturing is renowned for quality and attention to detail, and this is what we saw, and what we wanted to go to the market with. In addition the Xpose! 75 is flexible, in that it is both auto and manual load, and you don’t need to take parts off to switch between the two,” he says.

The XPose 75! is a four-page platesetter, which uses a unique patented combination of laser diodes and an internal drum, and exposes onto thermal plates at 2400dpi. It is daylight operating.

Sheftz says, “So far the Lüscher Xpose! 75 is proving more than capable of the task, it has just produced 2000 plates in its first month, and our customers are delighted with the results. It is also being received warmly by printers contacted by our sales staff.”
